iCUE Spotlight: February 2-8, 2017

What's in the CUE this week at Ohio U.

We're closing out week 4 of spring semester and this week is jam packed with events. Sibs Weekend is Feb 3-5 and with that comes a number of activities to enjoy with your visiting relatives including a breakout room, a "chocolate factory," hiking, ziplining, stargazing and much more. Then next week we'll prepare to say goodbye to President McDavis before he officially steps down from his position on Feb. 17. In between, as always, there are a plethora of lectures, sporting events, art exhibits and workshops, so be sure to check the CUE! And remember, anyone with an OHIO ID can add events that are happening on all OHIO campuses.

Here are a few highlights from the week ahead:

MDIA 15th Annual 48-Hour Shootout (Feb. 3 at 5 p.m. through Feb. 5 at 6 p.m.): The School of Media Arts and Studies proudly presents its 48-Hour Shootout for the 15th year in a row! This shootout challenges MDIA students to form production teams of two or more and work day and night to write, cast, shoot and edit a short film in just two days. Plus a free public screening of the student-created films will be held at the end of the competition in Memorial Auditorium on February 5 at 6:30 p.m.

KOOL-AID: So You Think You're Famous (Saturday, Feb. 3, 7-11:30 p.m., Baker University Center Ballroom): Looking for an energetic, unique, fun-filled event to take your siblings to this weekend? The Black Student Cultural Programming Board is hosting a family-friendly variety show that's sure to have you dancing in your seat. For just $3, you can see various artistic groups from OHIO's campus present their own reenactments of YouTube and music videos created by their favorite artists. It's sure to be a blast!

President and First Lady McDavis Farewell (Tuesday, Feb. 7, 3-5:00 p.m., Walter Hall Rotunda): With just ten days left to his tenure as president of Ohio University, all members of the OHIO and Athens communities will have a chance to bid President Roderick J. McDavis adieu and bon voyage at this open house in Walter Hall. After 13 years as president and first lady, Dr. Roderick and Deborah McDavis will say farewell to the Bobcat Family they've led for over a decade. A farewell website has also been created for the McDavises and well wishes may be sent to president@ohio.edu.

#CUEtip: Use keywords to distinguish your event and to make it easier to find! Keywords are similar to categories in the sense that they help group together similar events. Unlike categories, there are an unlimited number of keywords. In the "keywords" text box, just type any relevant word or phrase to create a keyword, then enter a comma to separate it from the next keyword you’ll type.

Be sure to visit calendar.ohio.edu/admin/setupevents.aspx and log in with your OHIO ID to add your organization or department's events to the CUE. Feeling lost? Visit www.ohio.edu/calendar/help/ or e-mail calendar@ohio.edu for help.
