Chicago Networking Week calls students to connect with alumni, explore career paths

Thinking of setting your career sights on the big city? Take a peak into your potential future by connecting with Bobcat alumni during Chicago Networking Week 2017.

The Ohio University Alumni Association’s Chicago Chapter will host the second annual Chicago Networking Week on March 22 to 25. The program will provide an opportunity for students to connect with alumni in the Chicago area to learn about life after graduation.

Registered students will have the chance to visit local companies and offices, join panel discussions with industry professionals and attend dinners and cocktail receptions with local alumni. Panelists will discuss working in the liberal arts, business and communications fields and how emerging business trends and other city issues will impact Chicago.

“Traveling all the way to Chicago to meet alumni takes things a step beyond networking opportunities here on campus,” said Casey Arnold, assistant director of campus relations. “In addition to making important connections, meeting alumni in the city allows students to envision what their lives might look like in just a few years.”

The $75 registration fee includes round-trip transportation and all meals. Additional hotel charges of $150 or $300 will include a three-night stay at the Marriot on the Magnificent Mile, with four or two guests to a room. Roommate preferences will be taken during registration.

“This is a great opportunity to connect with the Bobcat family in Chicago,” said Katrina Heilmeier, associate director of campus relations. “During Chicago Networking Week students have the opportunity to connect with professionals in the area, explore the city as well as possible career options, and be inspired by the work of other Bobcats.”

As Chicago Networking Week gets closer, details such as panelists, tours and more will be posted here.
