Instructions for Year-End Gift Processing


Ohio University will be closed from Friday, Dec. 25, 2015, through Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, and will re-open on Monday, Jan. 4, 2016. During this period, the Division of Advancement is working to ensure that all donors who wish to do so are able to transact gifts to The Ohio University Foundation. If you have any questions about making a year-end gift, please visit ohio.edu/yearendgift, call 740-593-2636 or e-mail giving@ohio.edu.

Please note the details below to ensure that your gift is received and processed:

Online Gifts: We will issue a 2015 tax receipt for online gifts submitted by Dec. 31, 2015, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). Gifts made online after 11:59 p.m. EST will be issued a 2016 tax receipt. To make your gift online, visit www.ohio.edu/give.

Phoned-in credit card gifts: You must call 740-593-2636 by Dec. 23, 2015, at 5 p.m. in order to ensure 2015 tax deduction eligibility. After 5 p.m., please use the secure, online giving form at www.ohio.edu/give.

Mailed-in credit card gifts: The Ohio University Foundation must receive mailed-in credit card gifts by Dec. 22, 2015, in order to ensure 2015 tax deduction eligibility (regardless of the postmark date).

Mailed-in checks: Mailed-in checks must be postmarked by Dec. 31, 2015, AND the check must be dated on or before Dec. 31, 2015.

Electronically Transferred Gifts of Securities:
The Ohio University Foundation’s broker will be available to accept electronically transferred gifts of securities during the closure period. We will issue a 2015 tax receipt for gifts of securities received on or before Dec. 31, 2015. Please click here for stock transfer instructions.
