Brett Eastburn to speak at Southern Campus about overcoming adversity

Despite being born without arms or legs, Brett Eastburn has yet to face a goal he couldn’t exceed. Whether he is wrestling, shooting pool, playing basketball or creating intricate drawings, Eastburn wants to inspire others to forget the word “can’t.”

Eastburn will speak about “No Boundaries” at Ohio University Southern on Thursday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. in Bowman Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.

Teresa McKenzie, accessibility coordinator at the Southern Campus, said that Eastburn’s appearance is important to all individuals because he demonstrates that the only limitations we truly have are those we put upon ourselves. “Students can see first-hand that having a disability does not define the person or create limitations as long as the person doesn’t see themselves as ‘less than.’”

Eastburn’s appearance is being hosted by the Council on Diversity and Inclusion and Ohio University Accessibility Services.
