Ohio University Office of Sustainability hosting bicycle workshop Sept. 10

Faculty, staff, students and community members who make use of bicycles on campus and within the Athens community are invited to attend a workshop Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Silas Bingham House on the corner of Richland Avenue and South Shafer Street focused on safety and theft prevention.

The workshop will be offered twice to accommodate work and academic schedules. The first will take place at noon and the second workshop will follow at 5:30 p.m.

Participants will learn bicycle safety procedures and receive tips on how to make common bicycle repairs using the University’s Bicycle Fix-It Station, which is located at Bingham House and is free to use 24 hours a day. Ohio University Police Department will also be on hand to help students register their bicycles, which may help track and recover a stolen bicycle.

Participants will also be entered into a drawing to win bicycle gear.
