Second round of EXCEL training offered to OHIO staff


As announced in the March in Compass, the offices of University Human Resources Organizational Development and VPFA Communication & Training conducted a series of sessions to assess the training needs for staff across the University. Based on the information gathered during these sessions, several training topics were determined to be of highest priority and new learning experiences are being developed to support these needs. The first of these new learning experiences to be developed is Analyzing Information with Systems.

Analyzing Information with Systems represents a series of topics developed as building blocks to support the new Chart of Accounts Redesign project and other Financial System Enhancements. The first topic in this series focuses on enhancing Excel skills for OHIO staff. In March, an Excel Training Needs Assessment was shared across campus and was used to identify which Excel functions are most used by staff and their level of expertise in each function. As described in an April Compass article, Excel Training was developed as a result of survey feedback. The first round of the Excel Training was held in May. Due to high demand, a second round is now planned for July and August. Each session will last two hours and will be a combination of instructor-led training and an open lab to allow real-time learning within the context of specific tasks. If you have questions about how to perform a specific Excel Task for your work, please bring them to the trainings. The schedule and topics are listed below. Participants may attend as many or as few as they like.

Please register for any of the above sessions at the Excel Training Registration Page. Registrations for the first round filled up within a few days, so please register as soon as possible. Trainings will be held in Alden 318: Learning Lab A.
