Molly Johnson named associate director of nursing at Ohio University Southern


IRONTON, Ohio – Associate Professor Molly Johnson has been named associate director of nursing at Ohio University Southern. 

Johnson will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of approximately 200 students within both the Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) and the traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree Programs. Co-reporting to Ohio University Southern Dean Nicole Pennington (Ironton, Ohio) and Director of the Ohio University School of Nursing/ Associate Executive Dean for Nursing Education Deborah Henderson (Athens, Ohio), Johnson will also assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing programs at the Southern Campus. 

Johnson is both a native and current resident of Lawrence County, Kentucky. She earned her bachelor of science in nursing from Marshall University and a master of science in nursing, with a pediatric nurse practitioner specialization, from the University of Kentucky. She has been certified by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board as a pediatric nurse practitioner since 2005. 

Teaching at Ohio University Southern since 2008, Johnson earned a Nurse Educator Certification from the National League for Nursing in 2012. She was tenured and promoted to associate professor in 2015.
