Sherman reappointed as College of Business Dean

Ohio University Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit has announced the reappointment of Hugh Sherman as dean of the College of Business. The reappointment is effective from July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2021.

Sherman has served as dean of the College of Business since 2007. During his tenure, enrollments have increased; the College welcomed its largest freshman class on record in 2015 and currently has more than 900 graduate students. The College also surpassed its $20 million Promise Lives Campaign goal, securing $28 million in gifts and commitments. The College was recently ranked the 15th best public business university by Bloomberg Businessweek.

“Dean Sherman has done an excellent job of growing the College of Business in terms of both students and academic opportunities,” said Benoit. “I am confident that he will continue leading the College as it provides a transformative learning environment that equips its graduates to pursue their lifetime goals.”

In addition to serving as dean, Sherman is also Corlett Chair & Professor of Strategy and Senior Economic Policy Fellow in the Voinovich School for Leadership & Public Affairs. He holds an MBA from Northeastern University with a finance concentration and a Ph.D. from Temple University with a major focus in strategic management and a minor in international business.
