‘How-to series’ kicks off Aug. 26 with program on navigating Athens

Ohio University’s Campus Involvement Center serves as students’ one-stop resource for success outside of the classroom, offering Bobcats programs and events designed to get them involved in the OHIO and greater community while supporting their personal and professional development.

The Campus Involvement Center is kick-starting its “How-To Series” this fall with a roster of exciting events. Every Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Baker University Center Theatre Lounge, there will be an opportunity for students to take a break from their busy schedules to learn a new and interesting skill. All events are free and open for anyone interested in participating.

The series begins Aug. 26 with a “How to Navigate Athens” guided bus tour. Students can hop on a tour bus at Baker University Center and visit hot spots in Athens like The Ridges, Kiser’s Barbeque and Avalanche Pizza. Free samples of food and prizes will be available for tour attendees.

Following “How to Navigate Athens,” the fall series will include:

  • Sept. 2 – “How to Dance (TBA)”
  • Sept. 9 – “How to Make Mason Jar Herb Gardens”
  • Sept. 16 – “How to Juggle”
  • Sept. 23 – “How to Dance (TBA)”
  • Sept. 30 – “How to Make Corn Hole Boards”
  • Oct. 7 – “How to Make OHIO String Art” (in honor of Homecoming!)

The 11-week series has been extremely popular in the past, and the Campus Involvement Center looks forward to continued success from the student experience program.
