A great change is coming to Ohio University’s homepage with the launch of the redesigned ohio.edu, and now a dynamic countdown banner is helping herald the arrival of the new University front door.
The countdown banner, designed by University Communications and Marketing (UCM), will update each day by providing the new number of days left until the new homepage launches, as well as an image of the redesigned page. The image of the redesign will appear more clearly with each passing day until the website is unveiled Oct. 9.
“The countdown is a way to share our excitement with the University community and beyond,” said Renea Morris, UCM’s executive director. “This new homepage represents the beginning of a new online experience when you visit ohio.edu. This experience will feature bold, beautiful images and will be optimized for use on a variety of mobile devices.”
In her Branding OHIO column in Compass, Morris detailed the process that created the look and feel of the new front door. The homepage serves as a first impression for prospective students, their parents and families. Using bigger images of campus beauty and offering a better user experience will help prospective students feel a sense of place and community, gain an understanding of the majors and programs offered at Ohio University and discover how they can get involved, explained Morris.
