Electrical outages anticipated during scheduled Athens Campus work [UPDATE]


UPDATE 12/19/14:

In response to communication received from departments we have altered the times of the planned outages scheduled Dec. 29-31. The outages are necessary to gather existing campus electrical distribution data in order to document the electrical infrastructure serving the Athens Campus of Ohio University have been rescheduled. Data gathered will assist in developing our Energy and Utility Master Plan; a roadmap for future campus electrical distribution infrastructure needs. As a result of this effort, please see below the revised schedule for electrical outages required to safely perform data gathering work.

Dec. 29: Electrical outage scheduled to start at 6 a.m. and lasting until 6:30 a.m. affecting all of Athens Campus, the Ridges and the OU Inn.

Dec. 29: Electrical outage scheduled to start at 6 a.m. and lasting until 1:30 p.m. affecting the following buildings:

Published 12/16/14: As electrical work continues on the Athens Campus as part of Ohio University’s Utility Master Plan, Facilities Management is sharing dates with the University community when power outages are anticipated.

The work is scheduled to take place between Thursday, Dec. 18 and Tuesday, Dec. 23 and will affect a variety of buildings on campus. For your convenience, the dates, scheduled times and affected buildings are listed below, as well as on OHIO’s Alert page. In the event that an emergency outage takes place, or in the instance that the scope of work and affected buildings changes, these changes will be announced on the Alert page.

Thursday, Dec. 18; 8 to 11 p.m.

Power will be shutdown to:

  • Clippinger Laboratory
  • Convocation Center
  • Grosvenor Hall
  • Grosvenor West
  • James Hall
  • Parks Hall
  • Softball Stadium
  • Stocker Center
  • Truedley Hall
  • Wilson Hall (West Green)
  • Wren Stadium

Friday, Dec. 19; between 6 and 8 a.m.

  • All of the Athens Campus will experience a momentary outage that is scheduled to last 15 minutes

Monday, Dec. 22; 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon)

The following buildings will not have power at this time:

  • Sculpture Studio
  • Siegfred Hall

Monday, Dec. 22; 12 p.m. (noon) to 5 p.m.

The following buildings will not have power at this time:
