Ohio University Polar Plunge is Feb. 14

The 8th annual Ohio University Polar Plunge fundraising event will support Special Olympics Ohio's athletes.The Saturday, Feb. 14 event at Lake Snowden in Albany, Ohio, is hosted by the Ohio University Police Department.

The Polar Plunge, which will begin at 1:30 p.m., will be proceeded by a costume contest. All proceeds go to Special Olympics Ohio to support their athletes.

Plungers are required to raise a minimum $50 in pledges by the day of the event. After registering online, you can create your own fundraising page, customize your page and email your family and friends. Participants also can earn incentive prizes by raising additional funds.

Participants can form a team and invite their friends and family to participate. Team fundraising is encouraged, but make sure every plunger has at least the minimum donation at check-in.
