ISFS launches Instagram account with 18-day photo contest

Prizes to be awarded daily

International Student and Faculty Services (ISFS) at Ohio University is celebrating the start of spring semester and the launch of its Instagram account with an 18-day photo challenge that offers Bobcats a chance to win OHIO merchandise daily and a grand prize at the end of the contest.

The #ISFS1804 Challenge kicks off today, Jan. 7, which also marks ISFS’ OPIE, Graduate and Undergraduate International Student Orientation Day. The contest runs through Saturday, Jan. 24, and is open to all current Ohio University students who follow @OHIO_ISFS on Instagram.

Each day of the contest, ISFS will post a prompt/theme on its Instagram account. Possible prompts/themes include “An Athens Adventure,” “Today’s Weather” and “Reminds Me Of Home.” Those participating in the contest will have until 7p.m. that day to post their best photo to the ISFS Instagram account (@OHIO_ISFS) based on that day’s prompt/theme. Entries should be tagged @OHIO_ISFS and include #ISFS1804.

Winners will be chosen daily and will be based on creativity and relevance to the day’s theme. The daily winning photos will be re-posted to ISFS’ Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts, and ISFS reserves the right to use any photos submitted in various media outlets.

The contest’s grand prize winner will be announced on Thursday, Jan. 29. In order to be eligible for the grand prize, contestants must participate in at least nine of the contest’s 18 days.
