Ebony Bobcat Network to host one-night performance of “Thurgood” for OHIO alumni

Event proceeds support OHIO’s Urban Scholarship program

Members of the Ohio University Ebony Bobcat Network (EBN) and the Ensemble Theater in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, invite all OHIO alumni to the Ensemble Theater’s production of “Thurgood,” a one-man show starring Greg White as the iconic Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall on Feb. 22, 2015. The performance is EBN’s annual scholarship theatre fundraiser event and the proceeds supports OHIO’s Urban Scholars Program.

“Thurgood” had its debut on Broadway in 2008 at the Booth Theater. The play is a biographical portrait of Marshall from his childhood in Baltimore to his post as chief counsel of the NAACP—where he famously argued the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education desegregation case in 1954—to his appointment as the first African-American member of the U.S. Supreme Court in 1967.

The event is from 1 to 5 p.m. and includes a pre-performance reception at the theater. Curtain for the show is at 3 p.m. For more information and to register, click here or contact Gary Nickerson at ganickers@aol.com.
