The Ohio University Hearing, Speech and Language Clinic will provide free opportunities for hearing improvement from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Nov. 22 in Grover Center W174.
The clinic welcomes anyone interested in checking their hearing abilities. Screenings usually last less than 15 minutes and appointments are required for patients under 18 years of age.
For those looking into hearing aids, "Demo Days" are being offered on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and Thursday, Nov. 14. Participants will have the opportunity to try hearing aids produced by reliable manufacturers and ask questions to a company representative. The hearing aid brand, "Resound" will be featured on Oct. 29 and "Widex" on Nov. 14. Appointments are mandatory for all participants.
"Our goal for these events is to simply identify individuals with hearing loss," said Brandie Nance, a clinical supervisor of audiology at the clinic. "A lot of times people will suspect that they have a problem, but don't have the opportunity to get checked out."
Anyone interested in attending either event can make an appointment by calling 740-593-1404. For more information on Ohio University Hearing, Speech and Language Clinic, visit www.ouhearingandspeech.com.
