As spring gets into full swing, Ohio University's Undergraduate Admissions, academic colleges and departments, and other student services prepare to welcome high school students to Athens for OHIO's Spring Showcase on Friday, May 16.
This one-day event offers prospective students and their families a first-hand look at the various academic, co-curricular, and other opportunities available at OHIO. The OHIO Spring Showcase includes an overview session, a walking tour of campus led by a current student tour guide, an academic information session hosted by OHIO’s college representatives, a resource fair, and panel discussions showcasing the student experience at the University.
“The majority of our visitors will see Ohio University for the very first time on Friday,” said Andrew Mojzer, admissions adviser and OHIO Spring Showcase coordinator. “Some of them will even be making their first-ever visit to any college campus, which gives us the chance to give students a really great first impression of Ohio University and set the bar high for their college search.”
Undergraduate Admissions also will host the OHIO Summer Showcase on Friday, July 18, which will offer the same opportunities to prospective students and their families as the Spring Showcase.
In addition to the itinerary of events for the spring and summer showcases, visitors also will be able to further explore campus and Athens on their own after the program adjourns.
“We’re really looking forward to putting our best foot forward for students and their families at these programs,” said Jessie Carter, admissions adviser and OHIO Summer Showcase coordinator. “As our campus prepares to welcome our incoming fall 2014 class, OHIO is investing in fall 2015 and fall 2016 students through these showcases to help them reach the point of enrollment, too, assisting them in experiencing that love at first sight when they step on campus.”
