Open forums for OHIO Dean of University College and Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education continue this week

Two candidates for Ohio University’s Dean of University College and Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education will have an opportunity to speak with the University community during open forums with faculty, staff and students this week.

Ohio University Executive Vice President and Provost Pam Benoit announced earlier this month that a search committee put forward five candidate finalists for the position, and open forums already have been held for three of the candidates.

During each open forum, each candidate presents his or her vision for how undergraduate education generally, and University College in particular, can provide a distinctive and transformative experience for Ohio University students. There will be a time for questions from the audience.

The two remaining candidates and dates of their University forums include the following:

  • Linda Rice, Associate Professor of English in the College of Arts and Sciences: May 22, 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., Baker University Center 230.
  • Jeff Giesey, Associate Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Associate Dean for Academics in the Russ College of Engineering and Technology: May 23, 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., Baker 230.

Three candidates who have had their forums include the following:

  • Jerry Miller, Associate Professor in the School of Communication Studies in the Scripps College of Communication.
