If you've ever been caught without an umbrella on a rainy day in Athens, the Office of Event Services has the solution.
Starting Monday, March 17, the Baker University Center will install new umbrella sharing stations to ensure the safety and well being of the university community in rainy conditions.
Executive Director of Event Services Dusty Kilgour said he witnessed this initiative being utilized at Easton Mall in Columbus, Ohio, and viewed it as a new opportunity to improve the Ohio University campus.
While these stations will provide umbrellas at no cost to students or faculty, the intention is that the umbrellas will be returned by the end of the day.
The stations will be located in ideal locations and will be available to everyone trying to avoid the rain.
While the initiative will start in the Baker Center, Nicole Lovins, assistant director of marketing and assessment said, "the intention is to have umbrella stations throughout the other buildings on campus."
