From staff reports
Ohio University’s Student Alumni Board (SAB) and Phi Kappa Psi fraternity are proud to present the fifth annual “Bare on the Bricks: A Nearly Naked Mile” charity event. The outer clothing shed by runners is donated to local shelters, organizations and families in need. The event, which will be held Feb. 22, begins at 10 a.m. at Baker University Center and ends at approximately 1 p.m. at The Pigskin on Court Street.
Participants will run together down Court Street to raise awareness of what it feels like not to have proper clothing in cold weather. Last year, participants donated more than 1,000 pounds of clothing. The SAB and Phi Kappa Psi hope to exceed last year’s total.
Registrants will meet at the Honors Collegium on the fourth floor of Baker and strip down to a bare minimum of swimsuit attire or to the runner’s point of comfort. Following the run, an after-party will be held at The Pigskin and food will be provided.
To register for “Bare on the Bricks,” please visit bobcatevents.org. Pre-registration is $10 and $12 on the day of the event. The first 300 registrants will receive a free event t-shirt.
