Jennifer Neubauer chosen to lead Ohio University Alumni Association

Jennifer Lewis Neubauer of Pittsburgh, Penn., has been named assistant vice president of alumni relations and executive director of the Ohio University Alumni Association (OUAA).

Neubauer, who currently serves as a director for the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence at the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt), will be the first woman to lead the OUAA in its more than 150-year history. She brings with her nearly 30 years of higher education experience in alumni relations, fundraising, marketing and public relations.

In her new role with the OUAA, Neubauer will provide strategic direction for the University’s alumni relations efforts and will implement programs, activities, services, and communications in order to build relationships and to engage the University’s more than 200,000 living alumni.

“Jennifer has an exciting background that combines expertise in alumni programming, marketing, and engagement with proven strategic planning and leadership skills,” said J. Bryan Benchoff, vice president for university advancement and president and CEO of The Ohio University Foundation. “Her breadth of knowledge and deep understanding of advancement work will be great assets to our team as we continue to engage OHIO alumni in support of the OUAA and the University. We’re looking forward to welcoming her to Athens soon.”

Neubauer is a graduate of the University of Illinois, where she began her career in university advancement. Her experience in alumni relations includes serving as: director of alumni relations at Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, Mich.; director of planning for the Indiana University Alumni Association; executive director of the Georgia State University Alumni Association; and assistant vice president for alumni relations at Carnegie Mellon University. In her current role at Pitt she has overseen membership, marketing, and development efforts on behalf the Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence. Her career achievements have been recognized by the Council of Alumni Association Executives, the University of Illinois Alumni Association and the Public Relations Society of America.

Neubauer will be in Athens for Homecoming, Oct. 11-13, and officially joins the OUAA Dec. 3, 2012.
