From staff reports
A power outage has affected Grosvenor, Grosvenor West, Parks and Wilson Halls on the Athens campus Monday, July 1 after an underground electric feeder cable failed on Saturday, June 29.
A replacement cable was not available in town, but one has been located. The power outage is expected to continue through Tuesday evening.
Grosvenor and Parks Halls are running on generator power; Wilson Hall has emergency power at this time. Some non-critical areas may limited power on Monday and HVAC systems may be affected.
All employees and students are asked to keep non-critical appliances and devices turned off. Use building lighting only as necessary to conserve energy for critical operations.
The emergency generator to the buildings will be shut off Monday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. to prepare the site for the wiring installation.
Information regarding the outage will be updated on the OHIO Alert page and through @OHIO_Compass on Twitter.
