Committee seeks input on campus parking recommendations

An Ohio University committee that reviews and makes recommendations on all aspects of transportation and parking on campus is asking for your feedback.

The Transportation and Parking Committee is composed of faculty, staff, and students who are appointed by the President’s Office. The committee reports its findings and recommendations to the Vice President of Finance and Administration..

The committee is asking the OHIO community to comment on the six recommendations it has made for the 2013 fiscal year. The recommendations are on a special website with automated e-mail links for feedback.

The recommendations address several concerns, including:

  • The reassignment of parking lots to replace parking that will be lost in the first phase of the Housing Development Plan, which begins this summer
  • Fees for priority (formerly seniority) parking, commuter parking and storage parking
  • Hourly rates for parking in the Baker Center Garage as well as parking meters on all lots around campus
  • Hours of enforcement for faculty/staff and commuter parking lots
  • Funding of the CATCAB service for faculty, staff, and students with mobility needs
  • Permitting and designated parking for motorcycles

To review the recommendations and submit your feedback, visit www.facilities.ohiou.edu/parking/TPSurvey03212013.htm by Thursday, April 11.
