Tobacco-free Task Force conducting tobacco survey and open forums

The Ohio University Tobacco-free Task Force announces an online tobacco survey available for faculty, staff, and students.

The survey is a tool the task force is utilizing to gain input from the University community. The group also plans to conduct open forums whereby University stakeholders can give feedback regarding the possibility of a tobacco-free policy on our campus.

The Tobacco-free Task Force was created in response to a resolution passed by the Board of Regents last July, asking all state institutions to consider a tobacco-free policy on their campus.

Vice President for Student Affairs Ryan Lombardi is looking forward to gaining feedback from the community regarding this topic.

"It is important that we receive input from all University stakeholders to ensure we have as much information as possible," said Lombardi.

The committee has been tasked with providing President Roderick J. McDavis with a recommendation regarding the implementation of a tobacco-free policy on the Athens campus. The committee anticipates submitting their final report by the end of spring semester.
