From staff reports
Ohio University students can bring their sibs to the Frame Your Sib! event at the Kennedy Museum of Art from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9.
The featured exhibition "FANTASTIC! The Comic Art of Sandy Plunkett" will allow guests to enjoy about 50 works tracing Sandy Plunkett's career from his early days within the industry to more recent commercial and independent works that display his highly fluid, often romantic stylization. The guest curator is Dave Filipi, director of film/video at the Wexner Center for the Arts.
After viewing the exhibition, guests can frame themselves as a superhero and grab a specialty peppermint or raspberry mocha or a peppermint hot chocolate from The Ridges Café from 1 to 3 p.m. For a photo and frame, there will be a $5 charge. Admission to the Kennedy Museum is free all weekend.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to become a member of the Friends of Kennedy Museum, benefits of which include a complimentary subscription to the KMA magazine, and discounts at The Ridges Café and for upcoming Art Encounters classes for children, youth and adults.
Kennedy Museum of Art is located on the Ohio University Athens campus. For more information, call 740-593-1304 or visit www.ohio.edu/museum.
