From staff reports
Ohio University's Masters in Financial Economics (MFE) program was recently endorsed by the CFA Institute University Recognition Program. The MFE program is offered at the Ohio University Pickerington Center and the Athens campus.
"We are excited to be able to offer the MFE program to working professionals," said Professor Khosrow Doroodian, who has led the MFE program since it was approved by the Ohio Board of Regents in 2006.
"Our graduates tell us that joining the MFE program was one of the best decisions of their professional career. The faculty enjoys the real world experiences that the students bring to the classroom."
OHIO's MFE program was acknowledged by the CFA Institute as incorporating at least 70 percent of the CFA Program Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and placing emphasis on the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the program. The MFE program positions students to obtain the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, which has become the most respected and recognized investment credential in the world. Students can enroll for one or two classes per semester, allowing them to achieve their educational goals without career interruption or loss of income.
"Students in these programs study the Candidate Body of Knowledge, which include knowledge, skills, and abilities that investment experts worldwide have identified as essential best practice," said Stephen Horan, Ph.D., CFA, CIPM and head of the CFA Institute's University Relations & Private Wealth division. "By mastering the fundamentals of the CFA Program as well as the Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, these future investment professionals join us in our mission to promote the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society."
