The LGBT Center and the Women's Center are hosting a Brown Bag Lunch and Learn to celebrate National Coming Out Day on Thursday, Oct. 11, at noon at the Women's Center on the fourth floor of the Baker University Center.
The session will consist of faculty and staff sharing their coming out stories as part of a panel discussion. David Descutner, dean of the University College and interim vice provost for diversity and inclusion, will facilitate the discussion.
Scheduled panelists include: Harvey Ballard, Micah McCarey, Andrew Stuart, Judith Millesen, Christina Nyirat, Eleni Zulia and Dale Mase. Light refreshments will be available.
"Sharing coming out stories is a vulnerable and empowering experience for both the listener and person telling the story," said LGBT Program Coordinator Virginia Martin. "We urge you to participate in this national holiday that celebrates working towards the end of shame, discrimination, and homophobia."
