On Wednesday, the Ohio University community will have an opportunity to savor both culture and cuisine at the annual "A Taste of Study Abroad" event, to be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Grover Atrium. The event is part of International Week 2012.
Hosted by the Office of Education Abroad, "A Taste of Study Abroad" offers an array of international foods while also providing information about OHIO's education abroad programs.
"This is a great event for students because it allows for them to explore study abroad opportunities while making very concrete cultural connections with an important aspect of any culture – food," said Lori Lammert, associate director of the Office of Education Abroad.
Students can grab a bite in Europe, nibble in North America, dine in Australia or snack in Asia. Offerings will include small chocolates, cheeses, packaged snack foods or dishes from the host country. A few lucky students will also walk away with prizes.
With more than 20 OHIO programs and 10 affiliate providers represented, "A Taste of Study Abroad" gives students a chance to speak directly with study abroad program directors and past participants. Students can also take advantage of on-the-spot advising with trained study abroad advisers during the tasting.
