From staff reports
On Friday, Ohio University President Roderick J. McDavis sent an email to all faculty and staff about the departure of Chief of Staff and Special Assistant to the President Becky Watts.
Dear Faculty and Staff:
The purpose of my letter is to share with you that Becky Watts, my Chief of Staff and Special Assistant to the President, has accepted a new position as Associate Vice Chancellor of P-20 Initiatives with the Ohio Board of Regents. She begins her new position on June 4.
Becky has made a significant impact on Ohio University during her tenure and she will be deeply missed. Becky is a staunch advocate for Ohio University, our students, our faculty, and our staff. She works tirelessly to advance public higher education, increase access and opportunities for students, and foster partnerships, most recognizably locally, to build a stronger community in which our students can grow and learn and our faculty and staff can live.
I am very proud of her accomplishments and the initiatives she has undertaken on behalf of Ohio University. As some of you may know, Becky has been working on her doctoral degree for the past two years, recently completing her course work. I am very proud that one day soon we will be able to call her an alumna of Ohio University.
Please join me in extending heartfelt congratulations to Becky and her family. I wish her much success in her new role as she continues her work to support students and advance education in the State of Ohio.
In the coming weeks, we will work on a succession plan for this key role in my office. Once that plan is in place, I will share its details with you.
Roderick J. McDavis
