From staff reports
The Budget Planning Council will hold an open forum on Wednesday, April 11 from noon to 1 p.m. in W115 Grover Center.
The council, which consists of representatives from each of the senates along with members of the administration, serves in an advisory role to the president regarding current and multi-year budget issues, long-term financial policies and funding priorities.
At the forum, Budget Planning Council members Joe McLaughlin, Lisa Kamody, John Day and Chad Mitchell will provide a brief overview of budget issues for fiscal year 2013. They also will discuss proposed investments in strategic priorities that form part of the University's 4X4 strategic plan.
Proposed investments include student advising; student financial aid; improvements in information technology needed to support students, faculty and staff; instructional capacity to meet student demand; recruitment and retention activities; student programming that supports personal and career development; and a raise pool to promote the retention of faculty and staff.
After the presentation, Budget Planning Council members will answer questions and solicit feedback.
The open forum will be webcast and can be viewed by clicking here.
