The state of Ohio’s Board of Regents recently recognized Ohio University Eastern student Kristina Velkovich by naming her as a state student ambassador.
Velkovich, a senior social work major, was nominated for the highly-sought position of leadership by Eastern Campus Dean Rich Greenlee.
“Kristina has taken full advantage of the many learning opportunities that the Ohio University Eastern Campus has to offer outside of the classroom,” said Greenlee. “She has pursued leadership opportunities with the campus Rotaract group, participated in athletics, developed work skills as a student manager of the fitness center and participated in many service activities. These experiences will serve her well upon graduation when we will be most proud to call her a graduate of Ohio University.”
According to Eli Faes, the director of public affairs for the Board of Regents, Velkovich'ssponsibilities will include acting as a lead representative for the Board of Regents at school events and related functions and actively engaging prospective students through the use of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
The Bellaire St. John graduate is excited about her new role with the Board of Regents.
“As an ambassador, I will be promoting my school, my education, and my overall experience at OUE,” said Velkovich. “This is a great opportunity for me to share with students the reasons why I chose Ohio University Eastern and showcase the doors the school has opened for me.”
