Last week, Sujit Chemburkar, executive director of event services, sent an email to Ohio University detailing Baker University Center's winter hours.
Dear Ohio University Community:
Baker University Center Administration would like to inform you of a planned maintenance period where event and foot access in and through the facility will be limited during the weeks of Dec. 12-17 and Dec. 19-22. This short duration of time will enable us to conduct necessary cleaning, maintenance and repairs.
Baker University Center will be unavailable for meetings and events during the week of Dec. 12-17; however, the center will remain open during our normal intercession hours of 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. and foot traffic will be detoured throughout the building.
There may be periods when the escalators are offline for mandatory semi-annual inspection; however, all attempts will be made to keep the elevators functional. Stairwells will also be assessable and CATCAB services will be available by scheduling with Transportation Services by calling 740-597-1909 or 740-593-1611. Hours of operations are Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
During the week of Dec. 12-17:
The fourth floor of Baker University Center will be completely offline to foot traffic. This includes direct access to the Guest Services Desk, the Allen Student Help Center, and the Women’s Resource Center. Alternative arrangements have been made for telephone/office coverage.
Access to offices and retail operations will be maintained through the lower level entrance
Technology Depot will be open during their regular hours
West 82 will be open from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
United States Post Office will be closed
The Front Room and Latitude 39 will be closed during the entire break period however, Café BiblioTech on the second floor of Alden Library will be open Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Bobcat Essentials will be open Monday -Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. until Dec. 9 and closed from Dec. 12-17.
During the week of Dec. 19-22:
Technology Depot will be closed for walk-in traffic; computer, software, and accessory orders will be processed over the phone (597-DEPO), via email or via their website. Campus deliveries for departmental and personal orders will continue during this time period. If you need technical assistance during this time period, call the Service Desk at 593-1222 or visit the HDL Center, 3rd floor during the hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
West 82 will be closed

Bobcat Essentials will be open with the hours of 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday - Thursday
The elevator from the garage to the lower level of Baker Center will not be available
CATCAB services will be available by scheduling with Transportation Services
