Academic & Research Center artist Alyson Shotz to lecture Nov. 9

Alyson Shotz, the New York City-based artist whose work is featured in the Academic & Research Center (ARC), will lecture at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in Irvine Auditorium. A reception will follow from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the ARC living room atrium.

The work of Shotz, whose lecture is titled "The Ethereal Invisible Intangible," has been collected by New York City's Museum of Modern Art and Whitney Museum, Atlanta's High Museum of Art, Harvard and Yale Universities, and other institutions.

Her sculpture "Angle of Incidence" that hangs in the ARC living room atrium was commissioned and paid for by the state of Ohio’s Percent for Art program. The program provides one percent of the total appropriation for artwork whenever the Ohio legislature appropriates more than $4 million for a public building.
