In a collaborative effort to help fight hunger, Kellogg's Food Away from Home and Ohio University Culinary Services are teaming up for one month to donate cereal to a local area food bank.
A bowl of Kellogg's cereal will be donated to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Food Center (allocated for distribution in Athens) for every bowl of Kellogg's cereal consumed by students on campus during the month of January 2012.
The kick-off event will take place on Jan. 9, 2012 at Nelson Dining Hall at 9 a.m. Students, administrators, chefs and Kellogg's Food Away From Home representatives will be in attendance along with Tony the Tiger.
"Ohio University students are socially responsible-minded and motivated by community involvement," said Gwyn Scott, associate vice president of auxiliaries. "Kellogg's has been a great partner in this effort, offering us the tools we needed to effectively execute this promotion and further illustrate how dedicated we are to the local community."
