Parking Services has released a set of frequently asked questions (FAQ) regarding the proposed parking fee for Athens campus employees of Ohio University. The fee and $150 pay increase for Athens campus benefit eligible employees to cover the fee will go into effect if approved by the Board of Trustees at their June 23-24 meeting.
All benefit eligible Athens campus employees can choose to opt out of the $150 parking fee between July 1 and July 31. Employees wishing to opt out can do so by clicking on the "My Account" link on the Parking Services website and following the prompts. They must also return their permit to Parking Services; this can be done through interoffice mail or in person. Once both the opt out and permit are received, Parking Services will contact Payroll to exempt the employee from the parking fee payroll deduction.
Employees who do not opt out of the parking fee will begin seeing deductions to their paychecks beginning in October.
Those Ohio University employees with a permit with 2009 designator who choose to participate in the new parking program will need to visit Parking Services to renew their permits before July 31. Employees with permits with a2010 designator do not need to renew their permits at this time.
