A place where promise lives

On Wednesday, Ohio University President Roderick J. McDavis invited the community to read about OHIO achievements in annual President's Report.

Dear Colleagues, Students, Parents, Fellow Alumni, and Friends,

As both president and an alumnus of Ohio University, I am pleased to invite you to be among the first to take a look at our University’s annual report, highlighting some of the many accomplishments of our students, faculty, staff and alumni. Although these endeavors are but a sampling of the achievements occurring each day at our University, they represent an ongoing tradition of excellence and demonstrate the many ways that the promise envisioned by our founders in 1804 continues to live in the 21st century.

Whether it’s delivering health services to people across southeast Ohio, assisting Louisiana residents suffering in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf oil spill, installing a solar-powered water pump for residents of a village in Ghana, or working on environmentally-friendly fuels that may benefit our planet, we are very proud of the work in which our University community is engaged on our six campuses and around the world.

Thank you very much for your commitment to advancing the promise of an Ohio University education. Every member of our extended academic community plays an important role in making Ohio University great—our collective achievements are the result of a vibrant, welcoming educational environment empowered by dedication, innovation, and collaboration. The contents of this report soon will be shared with an external audience as part of our continuing efforts to elevate Ohio University’s standing among elite peer institutions across the nation. However, we wanted to give you the first look at some of the diverse achievements in which we all can take pride, gathered together in a chronicle of our shared success.

In an effort to share this information more broadly without increasing costs, we have created a website for the report. I invite you to explore it and our University’s proud achievements by clicking the “Access Ohio University President’s Report” link below.
