The Ohio University Department of Geology named one of the top 100 hydrogeology programs in the nation by the National Ground Water Association (NGWA).
The NGWA evaluated more than 400 departments according to the length and strength of their programs. The goal of the ranking was to provide students with a strong list of programs to begin their college search. Other top 100 ranked programs in the state were Kent State University, Miami University and Ohio State University.
Ohio University Geology Chair Gregory C. Nadon said he has always known OHIO has a great program and is very excited to receive the recognition.
"We have great faculty that work hard to prepare our students with the skills they will need to be successful," Nadon said. "We've always been happy knowing we have a great program, but it's nice to have an outside source confirm that."
