From staff reports
Ohio University Assistant Professor of Ceramics Tom Bartel will discuss the style influences on his sculptures at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at the Kennedy Museum of Art in The Ridges.
His talk will be the third presentation in the Inside/Outside: Art Talks series.
In his work, Bartel questions the progression of life and the body's development and physically changing surfaces.
"The connection between the beginning and ending of life is a continual source of inspiration," he said. "I am observant of how powerful time is and am intrigued by the many ways in which we are affected by its passage."
The Inside/Outside: Art Talks at Kennedy Museum program is sponsored by the Friends of Kennedy Museum and is free and open to the public. Parking is free. For more information, call 740-593-1304.
