Environmental Scan Team begins work and blog

The nine-person University Environmental Scan Team appointed by President Roderick McDavis began its task on June 9.

McDavis outlined the charge for the group and discussed the ways in which the team’s work will assist the university in establishing a multi-year planning and budgeting process.

Over the summer, the University Environmental Scan Team’s main task is to conduct research on the trends of greatest significance for Ohio University in the next five years in areas such as demographics, the economy, technology, politics, culture, and higher education.

Once fall quarter begins, the team will initiate conversations on its findings with constituent groups and the broader university community.

The Environmental Scan Team has established a blog http://ouenvironscan.wordpress.com/. Its purpose is to keep the university community updated and to compile resources to be used in the university-wide environmental scan. Planning units are also encouraged to use the blog as a source of information as they begin constructing their own environmental scans.
