OHIO study shows high number of concussion-related symptoms in performing arts
A recent study released by the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine shows a stunning number of participants not only experienced concussion-related symptoms and head impacts but also continued performing either without reporting the incident or without receiving the recommended care. These participants were not taking part in any sporting contest at the time, however. They are theater personnel.

Ohio University officials are hoping to begin the lighting on Monday, April 9, but it will depend on the weather and cherry blossoms. Each year when the trees bloom, Ohio University lights up the trees near the Convocation Center, just as they do in Japan.

The Athens International Film + Video Festival to screen compelling documentary on Parkersburg's DuPont plant
Two screenings of “The Devil We Know,” are scheduled April 14-15 at the Athena Cinema. The documentary lays out the history of the DuPont corporation’s use of the chemical C8 and is an alarming portrait of the potential consequences of unchecked corporate use of chemicals that permeate the living world.

The Ohio University African Students Union will host a memorial service in remembrance of Winnie Madikizela-Mandela on Friday, April 6, from 6 to 7 p.m. in Alden Library 319. The memorial is free and open to the public.

Ampersand Festival features Ohio Wind Symphony with alumni and student composers, dancers, and local rock bands
The Ohio University School of Music is pleased to announce the Ampersand Festival 2018, a concert presented by the Wind Symphony at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 9, at Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. This concert will feature four world premieres written by current students and alumni composers, including collaborative performances with local and regional rock bands and dancers. Admission to this concert is free and open to the public.

The new and improved Mail Services website is live, as of April 5. As part of OHIO’s WebCMS project, the site, represented in the screenshot below, has been updated for improved usability and accessibility and has moved to the new content management system. An added feature to this site is a news feed, which will include important Mail Services updates. Mail Services will continue to update content and enhance the site in the coming months.
