Free 2-week Summer Camp in Athens

The Center for Intervention Research in Schools (CIRS) is sponsoring a 2-week free summer camp for rising 1st through 7th grade students. The camp aims to help student get a jump start on the upcoming school year while providing a fun, social, and recreational environment. Camp activities include outdoor sports, swimming, art, academics, and games, and these activities help to strengthen participants’ skills in multiple domains (e.g., social, coping, organization).

We are looking for children between the ages of 6-13 who will be entering 1st through 7th grade next academic year. Openings will be reserved for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); however, ADHD is not required to join the camp. Caregivers of campers also have the opportunity to attend weekly parent workshops if they would like to learn new parenting strategies.

Camp will take place Monday through Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm) July 21st – August 1st. Camp activities will take place on Ohio University’s Athens campus.
