Three Workshops on How to Get Funding

Student Enhancement Awards

Competitive awards to support undergraduate, graduate, and medical student research, scholarship, and creative activities. Awards of up to $6,000 support research and travel to attend a professional meeting to present results. One review cycle in spring.

Workshop:  Thursday, Nov. 21, noon to 1 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 22, 2 to 3 p.m.; 301U Alden Library; light refreshments provided

Ohio University Research Committee (OURC)

Competitive awards of up to $8,000 provide seed money for faculty and staff to pursue new research and creative activity projects.  Priority is for new faculty and staff or established faculty pursuing projects that are a clear departure from previous research foci. Two review cycles in fall and spring.

Workshops:  Thursday, Nov. 14, 3 to 4 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 15, 11 to noon; 301U Alden Library; light refreshments provided
Please note: these workshops will cover both the OURC and Baker Fund programs.

Grants 101 Workshop

This workshop is open to students, faculty, and staff and will focus on the basic fundamentals of how to write a competitive research grant application.  

The workshop will cover a general overview of strategies, with time for Q&A and encouragement for attendees to meet one-on-one after the workshop with the presenter.
