Appeals

As per the Student Code of Conduct, all students have three business days to appeal a decision made through the Community Standards Process. Any appeal must be submitted within three business days of written notification of the decision. For decisions made in a Community Standards Conference, Administrative Hearing, or University Hearing Board, students have two levels of appeal. The first is to a University Appeal Board (UAB), made up of a student, administrator, and faculty member from the University Hearing Board. Should students wish to appeal the decision of the UAB, they can submit an appeal to the Vice President for Student Affairs. More information about the appeal process, including the grounds for appeal, can be found in the Student Code of Conduct.

Appeals of decisions made in the Community Standards Process must be submitted via the online appeal form for that process.

As part of the student Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence, and Stalking Process, both the Complainant and Respondent have the right to appeal the decision. Any appeal must be submitted within three business days of written notification of the decision. If an appeal is submitted, the other party will be given a copy of the appeal and will have three business days to rebut the appeal if they so choose. For more information about these appeals and rebuttals, please see the Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence, and Stalking Process.

Appeals of decisions made in the Sexual Misconduct, Relationship Violence, and Stalking Process must be submitted via the online appeal form  for that process.
