Welcome to the Center for Campus and Community Engagement
The Center for Campus and Community Engagement (CCCE) serves as the central clearinghouse for meeting the community engagement needs for all students, faculty, and staff at Ohio University, as well as for community-based organizations locally, regionally, nationally, and globally. Specifically, the CCCE provides the administrative and educational support services to students, faculty, and members of community-based organizations who wish to employ community-based engagement practices for the betterment of students and the community. Our offices are located in Lindley Hall 041-044.
CCCE provides resources and professional development for faculty to lead students in connecting the classroom to the greater community and engaging the community in mutually beneficial, integrative co-curricular activities that advance Ohio University's aspirations to become the nation's best transformational learning community and to elevate the quality of life in southeastern Ohio.
CCCE is a resource for students who are interested in completing a planned Community Engagement Certificate by compiling and providing access to a comprehensive inventory of classes in all departments across the university which meet the CCCE's criteria for service learning. Additionally, students can access university-wide information about civic engagement opportunities and be connected with the sponsoring departments.
CCCE collaborates with regional community-based organizations and university-based partners on all campuses to provide students with transformational learning opportunities (TLO's) linked to the curriculum through structured applied learning, service learning, undergraduate research, and volunteer activities.
CCCE provides the community a much needed "one-stop" centralized access to university-wide opportunities for collaboration with faculty and students to build capacity and integrate innovative practices in their organizations.
