Nancin Y. Dadem obtained a B.A. and M.A. in English Language from the University of Jos and Bayero University Kano in Nigeria. She has worked for over a decade as qualitative research specialist in an urban HIV clinic in Jos Nigeria, where she explores critical issues that influence uptake, adherence and retention to antiretroviral therapy in sub-Saharan Africa. She has participated in numerous facility and country-wide research studies, presented study findings at conferences and co-authored paper publications. Her PhD interest is health communication, with specific motivation on patient-provider interaction, community engagement and public dissemination of health information through diverse communication platforms. Her goal is to understand barriers to effective communication within the healthcare system and develop cultural sensitive solutions, consequently enhancing best practices. She serves in leadership capacities in voluntary organizations. Nancin is married with three children and enjoys family time, writing and event planning.
