Courses

The RN to BSN online curriculum builds on your previous nursing education. In order to complete their bachelor's degree in nursing, students are required to complete:

Many courses you need to earn your BSN will have been completed during your associate degree or diploma in nursing education and may be transferable to Ohio University to apply to the hours required to earn a bachelor of science in nursing.

After you are admitted to the RN to BSN Program and your transcripts are received by Ohio University, the information will be reviewed, after which you will receive communication directing you how to view your personal DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System), where you will be able to see exactly which requirements have been met and what courses you will need to take.

Total Credit Requirements

A total of 120 credits with a 2.0 grade point average is required for graduation. Many of these hours you may have already completed in your previous education, and they can be transferred to Ohio University; some will be earned while taking nursing courses and support courses. After you are admitted to the program, a review of your records of previous coursework will result in a DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) report illustrating what is needed to complete your BSN.

Thirty credit hours of the 120 total must be completed with Ohio University, referred to as residency hours. Your nursing courses total 31 hours.
