Dean Randy Leite shared the following message on Tuesday, Sept. 8, regarding what OHIO's Phase 2 announcement will mean for students within the College of Health Sciences and Professions.
Dear CHSP students,
Today, President Nellis shared the University’s plans for Phase 2 of the fall semester.
This announcement means that many of you have been asked to continue your studies online for the remainder of this calendar year, and we’re working with each of our academic programs to share additional details regarding exactly what this means for you as a student within the College of Health Sciences and Professions. You will be hearing from your program faculty in the days to come about specific details for Phase 2 that may relate to your major program.
Moving forward, we remain hopeful that the University will be able to bring more students back to campus for the spring semester. However, in order to successfully meet this goal, we must continue to be safe and resilient as we persist through the greatest public health crisis of our lifetime.
I want to reassure all CHSP students that, no matter how your classes are being taught, our faculty and staff are here for you and remain committed to your academic, professional and personal success. For those of you who have requirements away from campus, including clinicals, practica and internships, CHSP is here to support you while you work to complete those requirements.
Ohio University and CHSP have a long tradition of supporting student success. Now, more than ever, it’s important that you’re able to stay in touch with faculty, advisors and peers who can help you through the challenges you might be facing.
OHIO’s Core Advising Team is ready to help answer any questions that you have about your schedule, the academic calendar or the best ways to continue learning. They are available Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST via email at email@example.com phone at 740.566.0340.
Specific CHSP advising contacts, who are also part of the Core Advising Team, may be contacted directly to answer student questions related to your CHSP major. Additional details and contact information are available on the CHSP Student Services web page. Graduate students and those undergraduates who have been assigned to faculty advisors may also contact them for assistance with academic questions or concerns.
Nothing is more important to us right now than removing hurdles and obstacles that may stand between you and your goals. Whether it’s academic support, scheduling, technical troubleshooting or questions about mental health, we’re here to support you. We are also committed to giving you the best Bobcat experience possible in the face of the challenges we are all facing.
However, as hard as we’re working to communicate effectively and quickly, your feedback will help us learn how we can improve our efforts to support you and all students. We ask that you please send feedback or questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
These are difficult and uncertain times for all of us, and we’ll get through this together. So, stay strong, keep an eye out for additional information, and let us know how we can help.
We’re here for you.
Dr. Randy Leite
