Yoga enthusiasts recognize the term Namaste as a respectful greeting and in the spirit of Namaste, Ohio University’s WellWorks fitness center would like to greet the community at a free outdoor yoga session. The 45-minute session is being held at Bob Wren Stadium on June 14 at 12 p.m.
The event, “Namaste the Copperheads Way,” is offered in partnership with the Southern Ohio Copperheads baseball team, and will feature a free multi-level yoga session. As an added bonus, attendees will receive a complimentary ticket to the evening’s Copperheads game sponsored by OHIO’s College of Health Sciences and Professions.
According to WellWorks Director Jenn Bennett, this event is a perfect example of how people can make the most of their lunch hour.
“Taking time in the middle of the day to rest your mind and exercise your body can create a much more productive afternoon,” Bennett said.
No registration is required for this event, but participants are asked to bring their own yoga mat or towel. Water will be provided courtesy of the Copperheads. In the event of rain, the yoga session will be held in the WellWorks Mind/Body Room in Grover Center.
The WellWorks fitness center offers yoga every Thursday at 12 p.m. throughout the summer and on Tuesday evenings at 5:40 p.m. Classes are free to WellWorks members or at a cost of $8 per session to non-members. The center is located in Grover Center E124 on Ohio University’s campus. More information is available at ohio.edu/wellworks.
