RHE ECONOMIC IMPACT REPORT
OHIO UNIVERSITY - CHILLICOTHE
Ohio University - Chillicothe, which serves an eight-county regional area in southern Ohio, is committed to the larger community and its workforce.
In 2014, an economic impact report confirmed OUC’s value. Data gathered for the study revealed that OUC serves not only as a gateway institution into careers, but as a vital source of future employees who make additional economic impacts. The 2400+ students presently enrolled at the OUC campus, along with 30 full-time and 120 part-time faculty produce $36 million in annual economic output. Their collective economic impact helped to produce 320 jobs for residents in OUC’s regional service area.
Activity associated with the OUC campus, such as use of the Shoemaker center for community events, generated $3.1 million in state tax revenue. To illustrate, our campus brought in 63,600 attendees during the 2011-12 year to enjoy theater, art, athletic events, dance competitions, antique shows and more.
