OHIO UNIVERSITY - CHILLICOTHE

2017 News New Textbook Procedures
November 07, 2017 : OUC Bobcat Depot Bookstore Is Now Closed

With the Ohio University Chillicothe campus bookstore being closed on November 8, concerns about textbook purchase, rental, and return are buzzing across campus.  Chillicothe Campus Dean Marty Tuck and other administrators have worked hard to finalize procedures for obtaining and returning textbooks.

Returning Textbooks:
For those students who rented textbooks from the OUC campus bookstore, rental return will take place in the Hilltop Café in the Stevenson Center during finals week.
Book buyback for students who wish to sell their textbooks should bring books to the Bennett Hall Lobby December 13 and 14 from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Obtaining Textbooks:
College Credit Plus Students will obtain textbooks from their high schools and should contact their guidance counselors.

Military Affiliated Students should obtain their books and receipts for reimbursement through their educational case managers.

For traditional students, there are a variety of ways to obtain textbooks and other course materials.  Many students at OUC post books for sale on bulletins boards throughout campus.  OUC’s Quinn Library may have some textbooks on reserve to use for a determined amount of time or may be able to help students request books from other libraries via OhioLINK, an Ohio based inter-library loan system.  Instructors are also good resources for textbook obtainment, and should list all required textbooks on their syllabi.

The internet provides many sources for textbook rental and purchase.  Many websites offer different price points and benefits; with this in mind, students are encouraged to comparison shop to find the best deal.  Some helpful websites include:
