2018 News Inclement Weather
January 25, 2019 : Ohio University Chillicothe issues inclement weather reminder

With the chance of snow in the coming week, Ohio University Chillicothe reminds students to use their best judgment when commuting to classes if they are not canceled due to the varying nature of road conditions throughout the area.

Cancelations will be disbursed on multiple outlets to ensure our students have access to the most up-to-date information including OHIO Chillicothe’s website, social media sites, NBC 4, WKKJ 94.3 radio, the Chillicothe Gazette, recorded on the campus phone message system, and sent through text message alerts.
The safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff is our number one priority. In the event that Chillicothe campus administrators determine that campus must be closed or classes delayed due to inclement weather, a determination will be made and broadcast by 7 a.m. for morning classes, 10:30 a.m. for afternoon classes, and by 3:30 p.m. for evening classes.
If the Ross County Sheriff’s Office issues a Level 3 or beyond emergency, OHIO Chillicothe will close automatically.
Announcements for closures and delays will include the date of cancelation, part of the day (delay or full closure) and location. Special events will automatically be canceled during campus-wide cancelations or closings. Instructors may cancel individual classes, many of which are posted on the class cancelation list on the web. Students should also check their Catmail and Blackboard for further instructions.
OHIO Chillicothe maintains the Alert web page where users can learn about emergency closures or other alerts. To sign up to receive text alerts from Ohio University or learn more about OHIO alert notifications, visit the OHIO emergency programs web site.
